Almost every interviewer will ask, "What do you know about our company?".
Top candidates always invest some time in checking out the opportunity from
several sources. Check out the company's web site. If it is publicly traded,
you can ask for an investor kit or annual report. On-line stock trading
sites are great places to get market news about individual companies.
Assemble
a list of relevant questions.
Inquire about the company, the position,
and performance expectations. Keep your questions simple and conversational.
Don't forget to ask the interviewer about his or her own personal experiences
with the company.
Know
your worth.
Know what it is that sets you apart from
all others in the marketplace. Take a self inventory of your skills and
determine how well they fit into what you want to be doing with your career.
Make sure you can tie your results into the position you wil be interviewing
for.
Be
on time.
Get directions and contact phone numbers
well in advance of your interview. It is almost always an irrecoverable
mistake to be late to an interview. If you are delayed, notify the interviewer
well before your scheduled appointment time.
Personal
appearance is key.
Pay attention to details. Make sure you
look your absolute personal best. If you get a chance before your interview,
visit the company to determine the standards of dress then, take it up a
notch for your interview. Be confident, and think "Board Room Presense".
