"You only get one chance to make a first impression."

Research the company.
Almost every interviewer will ask, "What do you know about our company?". Top candidates always invest some time in checking out the opportunity from several sources. Check out the company's web site. If it is publicly traded, you can ask for an investor kit or annual report. On-line stock trading sites are great places to get market news about individual companies.

Assemble a list of relevant questions.
Inquire about the company, the position, and performance expectations. Keep your questions simple and conversational. Don't forget to ask the interviewer about his or her own personal experiences with the company.

Know your worth.
Know what it is that sets you apart from all others in the marketplace. Take a self inventory of your skills and determine how well they fit into what you want to be doing with your career. Make sure you can tie your results into the position you wil be interviewing for.

Be on time.
Get directions and contact phone numbers well in advance of your interview. It is almost always an irrecoverable mistake to be late to an interview. If you are delayed, notify the interviewer well before your scheduled appointment time.

Personal appearance is key.
Pay attention to details. Make sure you look your absolute personal best. If you get a chance before your interview, visit the company to determine the standards of dress then, take it up a notch for your interview. Be confident, and think "Board Room Presense".
